Trip Overview:
Let Portugal draw you in with its soulful music, timeless landscapes and enduring traditions. This journey begins in Lisbon, where cobbled lanes, grand monasteries and the scent of custard tarts invite you to slow down and explore. Trace the footsteps of explorers in Belém, then descend into the hidden cisterns beneath the city and be swept away by the melancholic rhythm of fado.
Venture north into Portugal’s green heartlands, meeting shepherds in Mira D’Aire, salt workers in Rio Maior, and Knights Templar ghosts in the medieval walls of Tomar. Discover mystical lakeside villages like Dornes and wander the birthplace of Portugal in Guimarães. In Matosinhos, fish is still hand-canned with pride, while in Porto, you’ll sip port from the source beneath centuries-old stone vaults.
